Wofford Terriers

SPARTANBURG, S.C. (Interstat) — Two teams seeking consistency will meet Saturday when the Charleston Southern Buccaneers visit the Wofford Terriers in a nonconference women’s basketball game at Jerry Richardson Indoor Stadium. Both teams enter with identical 2-0 records at home and struggling marks overall. Charleston Southern (2-6) snapped a three-game skid with an 83-62 home win over Allen on Monday. Tyonna Bailey led the way with 24 points. Wofford (2-5) looks to rebound after a 58-52 home loss to Georgia Southern on Nov. 30, despite 18 points and nine rebounds from Queen Ikhiuwu. The Buccaneers have relied on Bailey’s scoring, but have lost all six games away from home this season. The Terriers’ two wins came decisively at home against UNC Asheville and Converse, but they have yet to string together consecutive victories. The matchup could hinge on interior play, where Wofford’s Ikhiuwu and Charleston Southern’s Caelan Ellis, who had 14 points in the last outing, will be key. Both teams will look to build momentum before entering their respective conference schedules next month. Tip-off is set for Saturday, Dec. 6, in Spartanburg.
