Preview: Yale Bulldogs at Rider Broncs LAWRENCE TOWNSHIP, N.J. (Interstat) — Two teams seeking momentum will meet Saturday when the Yale Bulldogs visit the Rider Broncs in a nonconference women’s basketball game at Alumni Gymnasium. Both programs enter with identical 2-7 overall records, each coming off a victory that snapped a losing streak. Yale defeated Bryant 61-48 on Wednesday, while Rider earned a 58-43 road win at Long Island on Tuesday. The matchup features a compelling duel between standout guards. Yale’s Ciniya Moore has been a consistent offensive force, averaging 16.0 points per game. She is coming off a 22-point performance against Bryant and has scored in double figures in every game this season, including a 22-point outing in a win at American on Nov. 26. Rider will counter with Emmy Roach, who is fresh from a season-best performance. She logged 40 minutes against Long Island, finishing with 19 points, five rebounds, four assists and a block. Her playmaking will be central for the Broncs’ offense. Beyond the star guards, each team showcased balanced efforts in their recent wins. For Yale, Luisa Vydrova added 15 points and four assists against Bryant, while Dorka Kastl contributed six blocks and five assists. Rider’s win was a full-team effort, with Aina Perez Mesquida posting 12 rebounds and six assists and Aliya McIver adding 10 rebounds, as both also played the entire 40 minutes. The game represents a final nonconference tune-up before both teams turn their focus to extended breaks and eventual league play. Yale will begin its Ivy League schedule on Jan. 3, while Rider opens Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference action the same day. For now, both the Bulldogs and Broncs aim to build on their latest successes and carry a winning streak, however brief, into the holiday period. Tipoff is set for Saturday afternoon.
