BALTIMORE (Interstat) — Two local women’s basketball programs seeking momentum will meet Saturday when Maryland-Baltimore County visits Morgan State at Hill Field House. The Retrievers (3-5) enter off their most decisive win of the season, a 68-48 victory over Presbyterian on Nov. 30. Maisie Crowley was key in that win, posting 10 points, seven rebounds and two blocks in 16 minutes. UMBC’s season includes a road win at Virginia on Nov. 13. Morgan State (1-9) looks to snap a seven-game skid. The Bears fell 79-66 at Toledo on Tuesday, led by Jala Bannerman’s 16 points. Bannerman has been a consistent scorer, averaging 11.1 points per game, including a 25-point performance in the team’s lone win over Washington Adventist on Nov. 12. Both teams have struggled offensively at times this season, setting up a matchup where defense and rebounding could dictate the tempo. The Retrievers will aim to build on their recent defensive effort, while the Bears hope home court provides a spark to turn around a difficult start. Tip-off is set for Saturday, Dec. 6, in Baltimore.
