The Redbirds (4-5) have struggled since a 3-1 start, with their most recent loss a 68-54 defeat at Northern Iowa on Wednesday. Guard Trista Fayta leads the team, coming off a 19-point, 7-assist performance. Eastern Illinois (1-7) seeks its second win after a 68-63 victory at Bellarmine on Nov. 29. The Panthers fell 60-54 to East Tennessee State last Sunday. Guard Tiny Lewis has been a consistent scorer, averaging 12.2 points over her last five games. Illinois State holds the home-court advantage at Redbird Arena. Eastern Illinois continues a road-heavy early schedule, playing its eighth away game. Tipoff is set for Saturday afternoon.
