Preview: Buffalo Bulls at Binghamton Bearcats VESTAL, N.Y. (Interstat) — The Binghamton women’s basketball team looks to continue its winning momentum when it hosts Buffalo in a nonconference matchup Saturday at the Events Center. The Bearcats (4-3) are coming off a 63-55 road victory at San Diego on Wednesday. Kendall Bennett led the way with 12 points, three rebounds and three blocks. Bennett has been a consistent scorer, averaging 12.3 points over her last four games, including a 19-point performance in a double-overtime win at Akron on Nov. 20. Buffalo (2-6) snapped a three-game skid with a dominant 77-51 home win over Niagara on Wednesday. Aniya Rowe broke out with a team-high 18 points in just 24 minutes, adding three assists. Rowe’s production has fluctuated; she followed a 14-point, seven-rebound, six-assist effort in a win over Fordham on Nov. 16 with three consecutive games of five or fewer points before her outburst against Niagara. The Bulls have struggled offensively this season, averaging 58.6 points per game and failing to reach 60 points in four of their six losses. Their defense will be tested by a Binghamton squad averaging 71.3 points in its victories. Binghamton’s Carletta Bennett, who had 11 points and seven assists against San Diego, provides a secondary playmaking threat alongside Kendall Bennett. For Buffalo, Paula Lopez, who contributed 12 points and five assists Wednesday, will need to provide supplementary scoring. This game concludes a stretch of seven consecutive home games for Binghamton to open its season. Buffalo is in the midst of playing eight of its first nine contests in New York state. Following this game, Binghamton hosts Marist on Dec. 13. Buffalo does not play again until Dec. 19 at a tournament in Abilene, Texas. Tip-off is scheduled for Saturday afternoon.
