CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (Interstat) — Two of the Ohio Valley Conference’s hottest teams will meet Saturday when the Austin Peay Governors host the Murray State Racers in a women’s basketball nonconference matchup at the Winfield Dunn Center. Murray State (7-2) enters on a four-game win streak, most recently defeating Morehead State 85-78 on Wednesday. Haven Ford scored 21 points and Sharnecce Currie-Jelks added 20 for the Racers. Austin Peay (4-1) has won three straight, including a 66-46 road victory at Missouri-Kansas City on Nov. 29. Veronaye Charlton paced the Governors in that win with 19 points and 10 rebounds. The Racers’ offense has been potent, averaging 82.2 points per game during their current streak. The Governors have leaned on defense, holding opponents to an average of 52.7 points in their three consecutive wins. This game is a final nonconference tune-up for both programs before league play begins next month. Murray State will visit the Dunn Center again for the conference matchup on Feb. 7, 2026. Tip-off is set for Saturday, Dec. 6.
