TAMPA, Fla. (Interstat) — The South Florida Bulls look to rebound from a lopsided conference loss when they host the Houston Christian Huskies in a nonconference women’s basketball game Friday. The game is scheduled for 7 p.m. EST at the Sun Dome. South Florida (5-4) is coming off an 85-51 defeat to No. 1 Connecticut on Tuesday. L’or Mputu led the Bulls with 12 points in that loss. Prior to that, USF had won two straight, including a 90-58 victory over New Orleans. Houston Christian (3-3) arrives on a two-game winning streak after a 79-66 road win at New Orleans on Nov. 26. Grace Booth powered the Huskies with 15 points, eight rebounds and five assists in that victory. Guard Madelyne Davis added 10 points and six assists. The Huskies’ three losses have come on the road against power conference opponent LSU and in tight contests at Tulsa and Tarleton State, which went to double overtime. This matchup begins a challenging pre-Christmas stretch for South Florida, which will visit Vanderbilt and host No. 1 South Carolina in its next two games. Houston Christian continues a lengthy road swing before returning home to face Southeastern Louisiana on Dec. 12.
