TEMPE, Ariz. (Interstat) — The San Francisco Dons controlled play from start to finish in a 68-45 victory over the Nevada Wolf Pack in a women’s NCAA Division I basketball game Friday at the Briann January Classic. San Francisco built a 33-27 halftime lead before pulling away decisively in the third quarter, holding Nevada to just six points in the period. The Dons’ defense fueled the win, generating 24 points off turnovers compared to Nevada’s eight. San Francisco also dominated inside with 42 points in the paint. Candy Edokpaigbe led the Dons with 16 points in 29 minutes. Aina Cargol added 9 points and 4 assists. San Francisco improved to 6-2, while Nevada fell to 4-5.
