WESTCHESTER, Fla. (Interstat) — The Georgia State Panthers and Florida International Golden Panthers, two teams with identical 3-3 records in their last six games, meet in a nonconference women’s basketball matchup Friday. Georgia State (4-4) looks to rebound from a 70-51 home loss to Central Arkansas on Nov. 26. Cheyenne Holloman led the Panthers with nine points and six rebounds in that defeat. The Panthers had won two straight prior, including a 69-64 victory over Samford. Florida International (3-3) enters with momentum after a 64-59 home win over Seattle on Nov. 30. Parris Atkins scored a game-high 20 points for the Golden Panthers, while Rhema Collins added 15 points and six rebounds. FIU is 2-1 at home this season. The game at FIU’s Ocean Bank Convocation Center features two teams seeking consistency. Georgia State’s season includes an overtime loss at Furman and a road win at Wofford. FIU’s results feature a win over UMBC and a loss at in-state rival South Florida. Following this game, Georgia State visits Miami (Fla.) on Sunday. Florida International’s next contest is at Florida Atlantic on Dec. 15.
