HAMILTON, N.Y. (Interstat) — The Delaware women’s basketball team will look to extend its winning streak when it visits Colgate on Friday night at Cotterell Court. The Blue Hens (4-2) enter on a three-game win streak, most recently defeating Towson 91-80 on Sunday. Lay Fantroy and Ande’a Cherisier each recorded double-doubles in that victory, with Fantroy posting 12 rebounds and 11 points and Cherisier adding 15 points and 13 boards. Trinity Vance led all scorers with 23 points. The Raiders (4-3) seek to rebound from a pair of lopsided road losses in California, including an 82-48 defeat to UC Irvine on Saturday. Lara Cook paced Colgate with 14 points in that contest. The Raiders are 3-0 at home this season, with wins over Ithaca, New Hampshire and Cornell. Delaware’s defense has been key during its streak, holding opponents to 57 points per game over the last three. Colgate has averaged just 49 points in its three losses compared to 74 points in its four wins. Following this nonconference matchup, Delaware hosts George Washington on Dec. 10. Colgate remains at home to face Albany on Dec. 8. Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m. Friday.
