TOWSON, Md. (Interstat) — The Towson women’s basketball team looks to return to .500 when it hosts struggling Loyola Maryland in a nonconference matchup Thursday afternoon at SECU Arena. The Tigers (4-4) are coming off a 91-80 road loss to Delaware on Sunday. Zoli Khalil led Towson with 19 points and six rebounds in that contest, while Tilda Sjökvist added 18 points. Towson’s season has been marked by inconsistency, with a 100-56 loss at Virginia Tech but also a 100-37 victory over Division III Frostburg State. The Loyola Greyhounds (1-7) seek to end a six-game skid, with their lone win coming against Yale on Nov. 23. They are coming off a 67-55 home loss to Delaware on Nov. 26, despite a 20-point, 10-rebound double-double from forward Lex Therien. Thursday’s game tips off at 7 p.m. EST. Towson travels to Maryland-Eastern Shore on Dec. 17 for its next contest, while Loyola visits Maryland-Baltimore County on Dec. 9.
