SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. (Interstat) — Two teams seeking momentum will meet Thursday when Cal State Fullerton visits Cal Poly in a Big West women’s basketball matchup. The Titans (2-5) and Mustangs (2-4) enter with identical conference records, though both are coming off different results. Cal State Fullerton fell 73-62 at home to Loyola Marymount on Saturday. Cristina Jones led the Titans with 20 points. Cal Poly cruised to a 59-31 home victory over Chapman on Nov. 24, powered by 14 points from Vanessa McManus. The Titans have struggled on the road this season, going 1-3, with their sole win coming at Pacific. Cal Poly is 2-1 at home in Robert Mott Gymnasium, including a dominant 87-27 win over UC Santa Cruz. Thursday’s game represents the conference opener for both programs.
