HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. (Interstat) — The Green Bay Phoenix visit the Northern Kentucky Norse on Thursday in a Horizon League women’s basketball matchup. Green Bay (5-3) enters having dropped two straight, including a 76-59 loss at Richmond on Friday. Jenna Guyer led the Phoenix with 16 points in that defeat. The Phoenix had previously shown a strong defensive presence in a 47-44 win over Kansas State on Nov. 22. Northern Kentucky (3-6) snapped a two-game skid with a 77-71 overtime victory against Southern Indiana on Sunday. Taysha Rushton scored 20 points for the Norse, while Maddie Moody added 15 points and 11 rebounds in the win. The Norse have been inconsistent, following a 90-69 win over Drake with an 89-63 loss to Stetson last week. The game at Regents Hall marks the conference opener for both teams. Green Bay holds the better overall record, but will look to improve its road form after a recent loss at Wisconsin. Northern Kentucky will seek to build momentum from its overtime victory as it begins a tough stretch that includes a road game at Ohio State next week. Tipoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. EST.
