(Interstat) — A clash of unbeaten and once-beaten powers highlights Thursday’s women’s college basketball slate as Notre Dame visits Mississippi at The Pavilion at Ole Miss. The Rebels (7-0), one of the nation’s remaining undefeated teams, host the Fighting Irish (5-1) in a major non-conference test for both programs. Mississippi is coming off an 81-67 road win at George Mason on Nov. 29, led by 21 points from Christeen Iwuala. Cotie McMahon added 14 points. Notre Dame, whose only loss came to Michigan on Nov. 15, rolled past Central Michigan 83-51 in its most recent outing on Nov. 24. Guard Hannah Hidalgo scored 25 points and had seven assists in that victory. The matchup features two of the Atlantic Coast Conference’s and Southeastern Conference’s top early-season teams. Mississippi’s schedule has included a road overtime win at Memphis. Notre Dame’s resume features a narrow home victory over Southern California. The game is the start of a challenging stretch for both. Notre Dame visits Florida State on Sunday. Mississippi travels to face Kansas State on Sunday in Saint Joseph, Missouri. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m. EST in University, Mississippi.
