NEW ORLEANS (Interstat) — The surging South Alabama women’s basketball team will look to extend its winning streak when it faces Louisiana Tech at the Smoothie King Center on Thursday, Dec. 4. The Jaguars (6-1) have won five straight, most recently defeating Florida A&M 75-54 on Sunday. Chrysta Narcisse led the way with 12 points, six rebounds and six assists in that victory. South Alabama’s only loss came against Memphis on Nov. 11. Louisiana Tech (3-3), known as the Lady Techsters, seeks consistency after a 75-46 loss at Baylor on Nov. 26. Hillary Dawson and Paris Bradley combined for 18 points in that defeat. The Lady Techsters’ wins have come against Stephen F. Austin, Arkansas-Pine Bluff and La. Christian. This non-conference matchup at the New Orleans arena serves as a neutral-site test for both programs. South Alabama’s defense has held four opponents under 55 points this season. Louisiana Tech averaged 93 points in its three victories but was held to 62 or fewer in its losses. Following this game, South Alabama visits Florida on Dec. 7. Louisiana Tech hosts Grambling on Dec. 9.
