FAIRBORN, Ohio (Interstat) — The Oakland Golden Grizzlies visit the Wright State Raiders on Wednesday in the Horizon League opener for both women’s basketball teams. Oakland (3-4) enters conference play with momentum after a 68-52 road win at Saint Thomas (Minn.) on Nov. 26. Cali Denson scored 21 points in that victory, while Sereniti Roberts-Adams recorded a double-double with 10 points and 12 rebounds. Wright State (4-5) looks to rebound from a 59-49 home loss to Air Force on Saturday. Breezie Williams led the Raiders with 16 points in that contest, and Claire Henson added 11 points and eight rebounds. The Golden Grizzlies’ season has been marked by volatility, including a 102-41 loss at Michigan State and a 90-point performance in a win over Cleary. The Raiders have also experienced lopsided results, defeating Wilberforce 122-47 but falling to Butler by 21. Wednesday’s game at the Ervin J. Nutter Center tips off a critical early conference matchup. Oakland’s upcoming schedule includes a home game against Cleveland State on Saturday. Wright State travels to Fort Wayne on Sunday.
