SAN DIEGO (Interstat) — The Binghamton Bearcats and San Diego Toreros, both seeking to climb above .500, meet in a nonconference women’s basketball game Wednesday afternoon at Jenny Craig Pavilion. Binghamton (3-3) arrives after a nine-day break following a 73-60 road loss to Columbia on Nov. 24. Kendall Bennett scored 16 points in that defeat for the Bearcats, who have shown volatility with a double-overtime win at Akron and a 70-point loss at Michigan this season. San Diego (3-5) snapped a two-game skid with a 65-55 home victory over Southeast Missouri State on Sunday. Eva Ruse led the Toreros with 20 points and eight rebounds, while Hallie Rhodes added 16 points and six assists. The Toreros are 3-1 at home this season, with the lone loss a 79-47 defeat to Arizona State. Binghamton is 2-1 on the road, with the win at Akron offset by the lopsided losses at Michigan and Columbia. Wednesday’s contest is the first meeting between the programs.
