GRAND FORKS, N.D. (Interstat) — Two teams seeking a turnaround will meet Wednesday when the Montana Lady Griz visit the North Dakota Fighting Hawks in nonconference women’s basketball. Both squads enter with 1-7 records. Montana’s lone win came against Division II Seattle Pacific on Nov. 4, while North Dakota defeated Wyoming 65-45 on Nov. 21. The Lady Griz are looking to rebound from a 78-38 home loss to Utah on Saturday. Avery Waddington posted a double-double with 8 points and 10 rebounds in that defeat. Montana’s season has included narrow losses, such as a 70-69 defeat to BYU on Nov. 19. North Dakota also aims to end a skid after falling 65-57 to Elon at home last Friday. In that game, Mackenzie Hughes scored a team-high 17 points and Walker Demers added 14 points and 12 rebounds. The game will be played at the Betty Engelstad Arena. It is the final nonconference home game for the Fighting Hawks before a four-game road stretch.
