COLLEGE PARK, Md. (Interstat) — The undefeated and ninth-ranked Maryland women’s basketball team hosts Mount Saint Mary’s on Wednesday night at Xfinity Center. The Terrapins (9-0) have dominated their early schedule, winning each game by an average of 28.2 points. They are coming off a 95-38 rout of Hofstra last Thursday, where Kaylene Smikle scored 13 points in 15 minutes. Maryland’s offense has been consistently potent, scoring at least 84 points in seven of its nine victories. Mount Saint Mary’s (2-4) faces a steep challenge, entering on a two-game skid. The Mountaineers fell 67-59 to Maryland-Eastern Shore last Wednesday. Gabrielle Kennerly led the team with 16 points and five assists in that loss, while Amber Bullard added 10 points and six rebounds. The Mountaineers’ wins this season came against Morgan State and Loyola Maryland. They have struggled on the road, going 0-3. This is the first meeting between the programs since 2021.
