ST. LOUIS (Interstat) — The surging Saint Bonaventure women’s basketball team visits struggling Saint Louis on Wednesday night in an Atlantic 10 Conference matchup at Chaifetz Arena. The Bonnies (7-2) enter on a two-game win streak, including an 87-55 rout of Valparaiso on Saturday. Laycee Drake led the way with 17 points, eight rebounds and four assists. Saint Bonaventure’s strong start has been built on defense, holding opponents to an average of 58.2 points per game. The Billikens (2-6) have lost four of their last five, most recently falling 77-67 to Stetson on Nov. 26. Alexia Nelson scored 18 points in that loss. Saint Louis has struggled defensively, allowing 73.6 points per game. This contest opens the conference schedule for both teams. Saint Bonaventure will look to continue its momentum on the road, where it is 3-1 this season. Saint Louis seeks a turnaround performance at home, where it holds a 2-2 record.
