ALBANY, N.Y. (Interstat) — The winless Siena Saints will look to break into the victory column when they host the struggling New Haven Chargers in a nonconference women’s basketball game Wednesday night. Siena (0-7) is coming off a narrow 49-47 road loss to Cornell on Nov. 26. Genevive Wedemeyer led the Saints with 10 points and four rebounds in that contest, while Kaiya Rain Tucker added seven points, seven rebounds and two blocks. The Saints have lost three games by single digits this season. New Haven (2-4) seeks to rebound from a 79-60 loss at Fairfield on Nov. 25. Aniya McDonald-Perry posted a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds in that game, and Addisen Sulikowski scored a team-high 18 points. The Chargers’ season has been marked by volatility, with wins of 39 and 46 points alongside four double-digit losses. The game will be played at the Times Union Center. It is the first of a two-game homestand for Siena, which hosts Central Connecticut on Dec. 15. New Haven returns home to face Massachusetts-Lowell on Dec. 6.
