RICHMOND, Va. (Interstat) — The Richmond Spiders look to continue their strong start to the season when they host the Loyola Chicago Ramblers in a nonconference women’s basketball game on Wednesday. Richmond (6-2) has won four of its last five, including a 76-59 victory over Green Bay on Nov. 28. Maggie Doogan led the way with 25 points, while Rachel Ullstrom added 17. Loyola Chicago (2-5) snapped a four-game losing streak with a 61-49 road win at DePaul on Nov. 26. Alexa Kinas scored 16 points with five rebounds and five assists in that victory, and Brooklyn Vaughn added 15 points and nine rebounds. The Ramblers have struggled offensively this season, averaging 55.3 points per game. The Spiders, by contrast, average 70.1 points and have held opponents to 38.1% shooting from the field. This is the first meeting between the programs since 2001. Richmond leads the all-time series 4-1.
