GREELEY, Colo. (Interstat) — The Northern Colorado women’s basketball team, riding a strong start to the season, will host struggling Missouri-Kansas City on Wednesday night at Butler-Hancock Athletic Center. The Bears (6-2) are coming off a dominant 114-47 victory over Chadron State on Friday, where Heather Baymon scored 23 points. Northern Colorado has won five of its last six, including an overtime win over Campbell and a road victory at DePaul. The Kangaroos (2-5) aim to halt a three-game skid, most recently a 66-46 home loss to Austin Peay on Saturday. Elauni Bennett led UMKC with 15 points in that defeat. The Roos’ two wins this season came against lower-division opponents Hesston and William Jewell. Northern Colorado holds a distinct advantage in both record and recent form entering the nonconference matchup. The game is scheduled for a 7 p.m. tipoff on Dec. 3.
