MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (Interstat) — Two teams seeking momentum will meet when the Belmont Bruins visit the Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders in a nonconference women’s basketball game Wednesday. Both teams enter with identical 3-4 records. Belmont looks to rebound from a 76-66 home loss to McNeese State on Nov. 26, where Jailyn Banks (20 points, 7 assists) and Avery Strickland (19 points) led the offense. The Bruins’ wins include a road victory at Dayton. Middle Tennessee also aims to bounce back from a decisive road loss, falling 69-47 at Mississippi State on Nov. 25. Macie Phifer paced the Blue Raiders with 13 points and 9 rebounds in that contest. Their season highlights include a road win at Providence. The game tips off at 7 p.m. EST at the Murphy Athletics Center. For Belmont, it begins a two-game road swing before hosting Princeton on Dec. 6. Middle Tennessee hosts Memphis on Dec. 7 in its next outing.
