MOREHEAD, Ky. (Interstat) — A surging Murray State women’s basketball team visits a Morehead State squad seeking consistency in an Ohio Valley Conference matchup Wednesday night at E.T. Johnson Arena. The Racers (6-2) enter on a three-game winning streak, most notably an 82-77 road victory over Boston College last Saturday. Sharnecce Currie-Jelks powered that win with 23 points and 10 rebounds, while Haven Ford added 16 points, seven rebounds and six assists. Murray State’s offense has averaged 85 points during its streak. The Eagles (3-4) snapped a two-game skid with a 66-56 home win over Marshall on Sunday. Marie Sepp nearly recorded a triple-double with nine points, eight rebounds and 10 assists, while Kate Dike added 18 points and nine rebounds. Morehead State is 2-1 at home this season. Wednesday’s contest is the conference opener for both teams. Murray State leads the all-time series 59-53, but the Eagles won both meetings last season. Tipoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. EST. Murray State visits Austin Peay on Saturday, while Morehead State travels to Louisiana-Lafayette on Sunday.
