ANN ARBOR, Mich. (Interstat) — In-state foes Central Michigan and Michigan will meet Wednesday night at Crisler Center in a nonconference women’s basketball clash. The Wolverines (6-1), riding high after a 102-53 rout of Detroit on Nov. 26, host the Chippewas (5-2), who are coming off a narrow 57-55 home win over Purdue on Sunday. Michigan’s offense has been potent, averaging 88.7 points per game and eclipsing 100 points twice. Guard Mila Holloway leads a balanced attack, coming off a 19-point performance against Detroit. Central Michigan, which averages 67.1 points, is led by Ayanna-Sarai Darrington, who scored 16 points in the win over Purdue. The Chippewas’ two losses came against ranked opponents Notre Dame and Georgia Southern. This marks the first meeting between the programs since 2021. Michigan has won the last six matchups. Following this game, Central Michigan visits Kentucky on Dec. 7. Michigan will host Purdue the same day.
