CORAL GABLES, Fla. (Interstat) — The Kentucky women’s basketball team, riding high after a dominant start, will face a road test against Miami (FL) on Wednesday night at Watsco Center. The Wildcats (8-1) have won seven straight since their only loss, a 74-66 defeat at Maryland on Nov. 26. They are coming off a 101-39 rout of Morgan State on Friday, where Asia Boone scored 21 points and Jordan Obi added 17. Miami (5-2) looks to rebound from a narrow 87-84 home loss to Oklahoma State on Saturday. Despite 17 points from Amarachi Kimpson and an 11-point, 13-rebound double-double from Ra Shaya Kyle in that game, the Hurricanes fell short in a high-scoring affair. Kentucky’s defense has been stifling, holding opponents to an average of 49.2 points during its winning streak. Miami’s offense, averaging 74.1 points, will present a challenge. The Hurricanes’ two losses have come by a combined four points. This matchup is the first of a tough two-game stretch for Miami, which hosts North Carolina State on Dec. 14. Kentucky continues its road swing before returning home to face Central Michigan on Dec. 7. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m. EST.
