FAIRFAX, Va. (Interstat) — Atlantic 10 women’s basketball play opens Wednesday when the Fordham Rams visit the George Mason Patriots at EagleBank Arena. Fordham (6-3) enters on a two-game winning streak, most recently a 72-51 home victory over Long Island on Sunday. Alexis Black led the Rams with 11 points, seven rebounds and five assists in that contest. George Mason (5-4) looks to rebound from an 81-67 home loss to Mississippi on Saturday. Zahirah Walton scored 20 points for the Patriots in the defeat. The Rams have won three of their last four, with their only loss in that span a double-overtime setback at Seton Hall. The Patriots have split their last four games, with the loss to Ole Miss snapping a two-game home winning streak. This matchup begins the conference schedule for both teams. Fordham’s next game is at Hofstra on Saturday. George Mason hosts Liberty on Sunday.
