GREENVILLE, S.C. (Interstat) — Two teams seeking momentum will meet Wednesday when the Furman Paladins host the Presbyterian Blue Hose in a nonconference women’s basketball game at Timmons Arena. The Paladins (3-5) snapped a three-game skid with a 74-67 home win over UNC Asheville on Saturday. Sophia Pearl (14 points, 5 assists), Alyssa Ervin (15 points) and Raina McGowens (13 points) led the effort. Furman’s victories have come at home against UNC Asheville, North Greenville and Georgia State in overtime. Presbyterian (2-7) arrives looking to halt a four-game losing streak. The Blue Hose fell 68-48 at UMBC on Sunday, despite 15 points from Ja’Cia Cunningham. Their wins are against non-Division I opponents Warren Wilson and Erskine, and they have lost by an average of 26.3 points in their seven defeats. The game is part of a final tune-up before both teams enter extended holiday breaks. Furman travels to Georgia Southern on Sunday, while Presbyterian’s next game is at Virginia Tech on Dec. 10. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m. EST in Travelers Rest.
