TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (Interstat) — The undefeated and top-ranked Georgia women’s basketball team puts its perfect record on the line Wednesday night against Florida State at the Donald L. Tucker Center. The Bulldogs (9-0) are one of just three remaining unbeaten teams in Division I. They are coming off an 80-54 rout of Butler on Saturday, led by Enjulina Gonzalez’s 15 points and seven assists. Georgia has won each of its games by an average of 28.2 points. Florida State (4-5) seeks a resume-boosting upset after a 109-91 loss at Oklahoma on Sunday. Jasmine Shavers scored 24 points in that defeat. The Seminoles have struggled against ranked opponents, with losses to then-Indiana, then-UConn and the Sooners. Georgia’s defense, allowing just 52.7 points per game, will be tested by a Seminoles offense averaging 78.2. The Bulldogs have held seven opponents under 55 points. This is the final nonconference tune-up for Florida State before opening Atlantic Coast Conference play. Georgia continues its road swing before a break for finals. Tipoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. EST.
