WACO, Texas (Interstat) — The Baylor Lady Bears (7-1), coming off a dominant defensive performance, host the Southeastern Louisiana Lions (2-3) in a nonconference women’s basketball game Wednesday at the Ferrell Center. Baylor has won three straight since its lone loss to then-Iowa, most recently routing Grambling 76-35 on Sunday. Transfer guard Taliah Scott leads a balanced attack, while freshman Kiersten Johnson anchors the interior defense. Southeastern Louisiana arrives after a 76-71 home win over Texas A&M-Commerce on Nov. 22, snapping a two-game skid. Guard Lihi Azouri scored a career-high 29 points in that victory. The Lions’ season includes a 115-26 loss at LSU and a 68-60 defeat at Arkansas. Baylor holds a significant edge in record and pedigree, but will look to avoid a letdown before a marquee showdown at Texas on Dec. 14. Southeastern Louisiana seeks a statement road win before opening Southland Conference play next week. Tipoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. CST.
