TUCSON, Ariz. (Interstat) — The undefeated Arizona Wildcats host the struggling Southern Lady Jaguars in a nonconference women’s basketball game Wednesday at McKale Center. Arizona (6-0) has won each of its games by at least seven points, most recently a 78-63 victory over Cal State Bakersfield on Saturday. Guard Lani Cornfield leads the Wildcats, coming off a 22-point, nine-assist performance. Southern (1-5) seeks to rebound from a 66-40 loss at Washington on Nov. 25. Demya Porter scored 16 points in that defeat. The Lady Jaguars’ lone win came against Tougaloo, 67-38, on Nov. 18. Their five losses have all been on the road by an average margin of 35.4 points. This matchup begins a challenging four-game road stretch for Southern, which visits Houston on Sunday. Arizona continues its homestand Sunday against New Mexico.
