AVALON, Miss. (Interstat) — The Tarleton State Texans visit the Mississippi Valley State Devilettes in a non-conference women’s basketball game on Tuesday, Dec. 2, 2025, at the LeFlore County Civic Center. Tarleton State (3-4) enters the contest with momentum after a 56-45 road victory over Texas State on Nov. 25. Guard Gia Adams and forward Shadasia Brackens each scored 16 points in the win, with Adams adding five assists. The Texans’ defense held Texas State to 45 points, a season-best for Tarleton. Mississippi Valley State (1-4) looks to rebound from a 73-66 loss at Nicholls State on Nov. 19. In that game, Ariel Jefferson and Janiya Jones each scored 15 points, while Jaeda Murphy dished out eight assists. The Devilettes’ lone win this season was a 72-68 home victory over Lipscomb on Nov. 16. The game features two teams seeking consistency early in the season. The Texans have shown resilience with a double-overtime win against Houston Christian and a strong defensive performance last time out. The Devilettes, after a challenging opening stretch of road games against power-conference opponents, return to their home state looking to improve their record. Following this game, Mississippi Valley State embarks on a five-game road trip, while Tarleton State returns home to face TAMU-San Antonio on Dec. 7.
