NEW YORK (Interstat) — The Long Island Sharks look to rebound from their first loss in nearly a month when they host the struggling Rider Broncs in a non-conference women’s basketball game Tuesday. The Sharks (4-2) saw a four-game winning streak snapped with a 72-51 loss at Fordham on Sunday. Kadidia Toure led Long Island in the defeat, scoring 19 points and adding six rebounds and three blocks. The Broncs (1-5) have dropped five straight since a season-opening win over Lafayette. Rider is coming off a 72-54 loss at George Mason last Tuesday, where Emmy Roach scored 14 points and Aliya McIver added 13. All of Rider’s games this season have been on the road. Long Island has found success at the Wellness, Recreation & Athletic Center, winning both of its home contests by an average of 33 points. Rider will look to find its offensive rhythm against a Sharks team allowing an average of 51.3 points in its wins. Tipoff is set for Tuesday evening. Long Island travels to Dayton next, while Rider returns home to host Yale on Saturday.
