Preview: Grambling Tigers vs. Jackson State Tigers COLLEGE PARK, Ga. (Interstat) — Two teams sharing a nickname but seeking different momentum will meet when the Grambling Tigers face the Jackson State Tigers in a men’s NCAA Division I basketball game Tuesday at Gateway Center Arena. Both teams enter the regular-season finale with sub-.500 records. Grambling (14-18) has won two of its last three, including a 77-52 rout of Mississippi Valley State on Monday. Jackson State (11-20) has won two straight, defeating Arkansas-Pine Bluff and Mississippi Valley State last week. The game is a rematch of a Jan. 31 meeting in Jackson, where Grambling edged Jackson State 69-66. Grambling will lean on guard Jamil Muttilib, who is averaging 21.4 points over his last five games. He scored 22 points in 32 minutes in Monday’s win and had a 27-point performance in a victory at Alabama State on March 5. Jackson State counters with guard Jayme Mitchell, who is coming off a 27-point effort in an 85-77 win over Mississippi Valley State on March 5. He has scored in double figures in six consecutive games. For Grambling, Derrius Ward added 15 points and seven assists in Monday’s victory. For Jackson State, Devin Ree (17 points) and Jalen Tatum (12 points) provided key support in their last outing. According to National Statistical’s ELO system, Jackson State is projected with a 55.3% probability to win. The over/under for the game is set at 143.5 points. The game tips off at 8 p.m. EDT Tuesday.
