Preview of Tuesday’s Mountain West Basketball Game BOSLER, Wyo. (Interstat) — A late-season Mountain West clash with postseason implications is set for Tuesday night when the Nevada Wolf Pack visit the Wyoming Cowboys at Arena-Auditorium. Nevada (19-10) looks to rebound from a tough overtime road loss, 85-83 at UNLV last Saturday, and solidify its conference standing. The Wolf Pack have been inconsistent lately, alternating wins and losses over their past six games. Their offense runs through guard Vaughn Weems, who is coming off a career-high 30-point performance in the loss to the Rebels. Over his last eight games, Weems is averaging 14.6 points. Wyoming (16-13) has won two of its last three, including a 66-62 home victory over Air Force last Saturday. The Cowboys have been strong at home in conference play, winning four of their last five in Bosler. They are led by guard Damarion Dennis, who has scored 16 or more points in four of his last six outings, averaging 17.2 points per game in that stretch. The teams met earlier this season in Reno, with Nevada securing a 92-83 win on Jan. 10. The Wolf Pack have historically struggled in Laramie, however, and will face a Cowboys team fighting to improve its seeding for the upcoming Mountain West tournament. For Nevada, finding secondary scoring behind Weems will be critical. Tayshawn Comer (15 points vs. UNLV) and Elijah Price (10 points) provided support last game but the Wolf Pack shot just 40% from the field. Wyoming will rely on Dennis and forward Adam Harakow, who added 14 points against Air Force. Tip-off is scheduled for 9 p.m. EST Tuesday. Nevada concludes its regular season at home against Air Force on Saturday. Wyoming travels to face San Jose State on Saturday.
