Hampton Looks to Sweep Season Series at William & Mary WILLIAMSBURG, Va. The Pirates (13-17, 8-9 CAA) handed the Tribe (18-11, 11-6 CAA) a 77-74 defeat in Hampton on Feb. 7, a result William & Mary will aim to avenge as it seeks to solidify its standing in the conference tournament bracket. Hampton enters having split its last two games, most recently a 76-65 home win over Northeastern on Saturday. William & Mary is coming off a narrow 91-88 road victory at North Carolina A&T the same day. Hampton’s success hinges on the scoring of guard Michael Eley, who poured in 21 points in 28 minutes against Northeastern. He averaged 15.3 points over his last three contests. Daniel Johnson and Etienne Strothers, who each added 12 points in the win, provide supplemental offense. William & Mary counters with the versatile play of guard Chase Lowe, who posted 14 points and three assists in the win at North Carolina A&T. Lowe struggled in the first meeting with Hampton, finishing with six points, five rebounds and four assists in the loss. The Tribe will look for a more efficient performance from him and continued production from Reese Miller, who scored 15 points on Saturday, and Tunde Vahlberg Fasasi, who had 13 points and five assists. Since the loss at Hampton, the Tribe has gone 4-2, including key wins over Northeastern and UNC Wilmington.
