Grand Canyon Seeks Season Sweep of Struggling Air Force AIR FORCE ACADEMY, Colo. (Interstat) — The Grand Canyon Antelopes look to solidify their standing and complete a regular-season sweep when they visit the reeling Air Force Falcons in a men’s NCAA Division I basketball game Tuesday afternoon at Clune Arena. Grand Canyon (17-11) enters the matchup favored heavily against an Air Force (3-26) team mired in a prolonged slump. The Falcons have lost 15 consecutive games, with their last win coming on Jan. 3. Their most recent outing was a 66-62 loss at Wyoming on Saturday. The Antelopes won the first meeting decisively, 81-57, in Phoenix on Feb. 3. In that game, Grand Canyon guard Makaih Williams scored 15 points in just 23 minutes. Williams enters as the player to watch for the visitors, averaging 17.1 points over his last eight games. He is coming off a 19-point, 6-assist performance in a narrow 74-69 road loss to Utah State on Saturday. Air Force, which averages just 64.2 points per game, will need a significant offensive spark to challenge the Antelopes. Guard Eli Robinson, a player to watch for the Falcons, had 12 points and three assists in the loss at Wyoming. The Falcons have not scored more than 80 points in a game since December and have been held under 70 points in 10 of their last 11 contests. Grand Canyon has shown resilience on the road this season, including a notable 73-63 victory at San Diego State on Feb. 17. Their offense, which put up 94 points in a win at San Jose State last month, will test an Air Force defense allowing opponents to score 80.9 points per game. The Falcons will honor their seniors before their final home game of the season, seeking to avoid a winless conference campaign at Clune Arena. Tipoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. MST Tuesday.
