LEE, N.H. (Interstat) — Two men’s basketball teams seeking momentum at the end of a difficult season will meet Tuesday night when the Bryant Bulldogs visit the New Hampshire Wildcats in an America East Conference matchup at Lundholm Gym. Both teams enter with nearly identical records. Bryant is 9-20 overall, while New Hampshire sits at 8-20. The Bulldogs are coming off one of their best performances of the season, a 69-52 home victory over NJIT on Saturday. The Wildcats, meanwhile, are looking to halt a seven-game losing streak following an 84-61 loss at Albany on Saturday. Bryant will rely on the hot hand of guard Timofei Rudovskii. He scored 20 points in the win over NJIT and is averaging 15.4 points over his last seven games, including a 24-point effort in a narrow loss to Albany on Feb. 5. He was also instrumental in the teams’ first meeting this season, a 92-84 Bryant victory in Smithfield on Jan. 31. New Hampshire’s key contributor is John Squire, who led the Wildcats with 12 points, three assists and two blocks in the loss to Albany. His versatility has been on display during the skid, including a nine-rebound, three-assist game against Maine on Feb. 21. For the Wildcats, stopping Rudovskii and containing Bryant’s backcourt will be critical. In the January matchup, Bryant’s guards fueled the win. The Bulldogs will aim to replicate that offensive efficiency on the road, while New Hampshire hopes home court can provide a spark to end its prolonged slump. Tuesday’s game is scheduled for a 7 p.m. tipoff.
