TROY, Ala. (Interstat) — The Troy Trojans will look to sweep the season series and solidify their Sun Belt Conference standing when they host the struggling Louisiana-Monroe Warhawks on Friday, Feb. 27, 2026, at Trojan Arena. The matchup pits teams at opposite ends of the spectrum. Troy (19-11) enters having won three of its last four, including a decisive 78-59 victory over Louisiana-Lafayette on Tuesday. The Trojans sit comfortably above .500 and are jockeying for postseason position. Louisiana-Monroe (4-25), meanwhile, is mired in a difficult season, having lost 10 of its last 11 games. The Warhawks’ most recent outing was a 102-94 home loss to Arkansas State on Saturday, despite another prolific performance from standout guard Krystian Lewis. Lewis will be the primary focus for Troy’s defense. The dynamic guard is averaging 27.1 points over his last seven games, including a 33-point, 9-assist effort against Arkansas State and a 19-point showing in the first meeting with Troy. In that narrow 77-76 road loss to the Trojans on Feb. 18, Lewis scored 19 points and dished 6 assists, nearly willing the Warhawks to an upset. Troy counterpunches with forward Jerrell Bellamy, who is coming off a season-high 25 points in the win over Louisiana-Lafayette. Bellamy was also effective in the previous win over ULM, scoring 11 points. His recent surge provides a secondary scoring option behind consistent contributors like Thomas Dowd and Cooper Campbell. The Trojans won the first meeting in dramatic fashion, escaping Fant-Ewing Coliseum with a one-point victory. Louisiana-Monroe has shown a repeated ability to keep games close, with five of its last nine losses coming by single digits, but closing out wins has been a persistent issue. For Troy, the game represents a critical opportunity to pad its record and avoid a damaging loss before conference tournament play. For the Warhawks, it is another chance to play spoiler behind the high-scoring heroics of Lewis, who has been one of the Sun Belt’s most explosive players during the conference slate. Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m. CST at Trojan Arena.
