Just two weeks ago, on Feb. 14, the Monarchs dominated Georgia State 78-55 in Norfolk, Virginia. Old Dominion guard Jordan Battle has been a consistent offensive catalyst. He is coming off a 24-point, four-assist performance in a 97-88 road loss at Marshall on Tuesday. In his last eight games, Battle has scored 20 or more points four times, including a 27-point outing in a win over Louisiana-Lafayette on Feb. 16. He also poured in 25 points in the Panthers’ loss at Old Dominion earlier this month, indicating another potential duel with Battle. Both teams have struggled for consistency. Since their last meeting, Old Dominion is 2-2, while Georgia State is 1-3, with its lone win a two-point victory over rival Georgia Southern. The game represents a final regular-season opportunity for both squads to build confidence before the upcoming Sun Belt tournament. For the Panthers, it’s a chance for revenge on their home floor.
