Jaspers, Peacocks Set for Rematch in Jersey City JERSEY CITY, N.J. (Interstat) — The Manhattan Jaspers will look to avenge a recent loss and disrupt the Saint Peter’s Peacocks’ pursuit of a winning season when the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference foes meet Friday night at Yanitelli Center. The Peacocks (15-11) edged the Jaspers (12-17) 80-75 in Riverdale just over three weeks ago on Feb. 5. Saint Peter’s has since gone 3-3, including a 72-63 loss at Siena last Sunday. Manhattan is 3-4 since that defeat, coming off an 84-70 home loss to Marist on Feb. 20. Manhattan’s hopes will lean heavily on guard Terrance Jones, who is coming off a 29-point performance in the loss to Marist. Over his last seven games, Jones is averaging 14.9 points, 4.7 rebounds and 2.0 assists, including a triple-double of 12 points, 13 rebounds and three assists in a win over Sacred Heart on Feb. 7. He was held to seven points in the first matchup against Saint Peter’s. The Peacocks counter with guard Bryce Eaton, who torched the Jaspers for 21 points and six assists in the February victory. Eaton is averaging 14.6 points and 3.9 assists over his last eight contests. He posted 17 points, four rebounds and six assists in the loss to Siena. Saint Peter’s has found consistency at home in conference play, winning three of its last four at Yanitelli Center. Manhattan has struggled on the road, with a 4-10 record away from home this season. The game is the penultimate regular-season contest for both teams. Manhattan will host Iona on Sunday, March 1, while Saint Peter’s will travel to face Marist the same day. Tipoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. EST.
