(Interstat) — Two teams seeking momentum at the end of a difficult season will meet Thursday when the Jacksonville Dolphins host the Stetson Hatters in an ASUN Conference men’s basketball game. Both teams enter with identical 10-19 overall records. The matchup at Jacksonville Veterans Memorial Arena is a quick rematch from Feb. 11, when Stetson earned a 67-62 home victory. The Hatters, coming off a 76-71 home win over North Florida on Saturday, will look to sophomore forward Finley Sheridan to continue his strong play. Sheridan posted 19 points and eight rebounds in that victory, part of a recent stretch where he has been a consistent contributor. In the first meeting against Jacksonville, he scored nine points in 16 minutes. Jacksonville aims to snap a two-game skid after a 65-61 home loss to Austin Peay on Saturday. The Dolphins will lean on guard Hayden Wood, who scored 22 points in that contest and is averaging 18.3 points over his last three games. Wood was held to 14 points in the earlier loss at Stetson. Stetson’s recent success has been fueled by balance. In the win over North Florida, Collin Kuhl added a double-double with 13 points and 12 rebounds, while Ethan Copeland chipped in 15 points and five rebounds. Jacksonville has struggled offensively in its recent losses, failing to reach 65 points in either game. Protecting home court will be a priority for the Dolphins, who are 6-6 at Veterans Memorial Arena this season. The game could have implications for seeding in the upcoming ASUN Conference tournament. With the regular season winding down, both teams are looking to build confidence and secure a favorable position for the postseason.
