Top Summit League Contenders Collide as NDSU Visits Saint Thomas ST. PAUL, Minn. (Interstat) β A pivotal late-season Summit League menβs basketball showdown is set for Thursday when first-place North Dakota State visits second-place Saint Thomas (Minn.) at Schoenecker Arena. The Bison (23-6, 11-3 Summit), winners of six of their last seven, enter with a one-game lead over the Tommies (21-8, 10-4) in the conference standings with two games remaining for each team. North Dakota State can clinch at least a share of the regular-season title with a victory. Saint Thomas seeks to avenge a 68-65 road loss to the Bison on Jan. 17 and pull even in the standings. The Tommies are 13-1 at home this season. North Dakota State is powered by a balanced attack, but forward Treyson Anderson has been a recent force. He is coming off a dominant 20-point, 11-rebound performance in just 20 minutes in a 95-59 rout of Missouri-Kansas City on Saturday. Over his last seven games, Anderson is averaging 9.4 points and 4.1 rebounds. The Tommies counter with guard Nick Janowski, a consistent scoring threat who has averaged 17.6 points over his last seven contests. He scored 19 in the narrow 82-80 loss at Denver last time out. The Bison have been formidable on the road in conference play, boasting a 6-2 record. Their defense has been key, holding opponents to 66.9 points per game in league action. Saint Thomas leads the Summit in scoring offense at 86.2 points per game, setting up a clash of styles. In the January meeting, North Dakota State survived a low-scoring affair, holding Saint Thomas to 38.2% shooting. The Tommies will need a more efficient offensive performance on their home floor to reverse the result and tighten the race for the top seed in the upcoming Summit League tournament. Tipoff is scheduled for 8 p.m. EST. The game will be broadcast on ESPN+.
