Preview: Northern Arizona Lumberjacks at Idaho Vandals CALDWELL, Idaho (Interstat) — The Idaho Vandals will look to complete a regular-season sweep and solidify their position in the Big Sky Conference standings when they host the Northern Arizona Lumberjacks on Thursday, Feb. 26, 2026. Idaho (15-13, 8-7 Big Sky) enters the matchup at Idaho Central Credit Union Arena with momentum from an 86-80 road victory over Sacramento State on Saturday. The Vandals’ offense was powered by a combined 43 points from Jackson Rasmussen and Biko Johnson in that win. Northern Arizona (10-18, 6-9) is seeking to bounce back from a heartbreaking 78-77 loss at Northern Colorado, a game in which Chris Komin erupted for a career-high 34 points. The Vandals handily won the first meeting this season, 79-62, in Flagstaff on Jan. 31. Idaho held Komin to eight points in that contest, while Rasmussen had a quiet night with two points. Komin, however, enters this rematch on a heater. The Northern Arizona guard is averaging 19.1 points over his last seven games, including his 34-point performance. Containing him will be a primary focus for Idaho’s defense. For the Vandals, Rasmussen has been a consistent scoring threat, averaging 13.1 points per game in conference play. His versatility will test a Northern Arizona defense that has struggled on the road, where the Lumberjacks are 3-11 this season. Idaho has been strong at home, posting a 10-3 record in Caldwell. A victory would keep the Vandals in the hunt for a favorable seed in the upcoming Big Sky tournament. Northern Arizona, meanwhile, needs a late-season surge to improve its tournament positioning. The Lumberjacks have shown flashes, including a win over Sacramento State and a narrow loss to first-place Northern Colorado, but have been unable to string together consecutive wins since early January. The game is scheduled for a 7 p.m. MST tipoff.
