Preview: Hawaii Warriors at UC Davis Aggies DAVIS, Calif. (Interstat) — A pivotal Big West Conference men’s basketball clash is set for Thursday night as the Hawaii Warriors visit the UC Davis Aggies at The Pavilion at ARC. The Warriors (19-7 overall) enter with the superior record, but the Aggies (17-11) have been strong at home and are looking to avenge a 75-69 loss in Honolulu on Dec. 4. The matchup features two of the league’s top scorers in a head-to-head battle that could significantly impact the conference standings with just over two weeks remaining in the regular season. Hawaiia is led by dynamic guard Dre Bullock, who is averaging 18.4 points over his last seven games. He is coming off a 21-point performance in an overtime win against UC Santa Barbara last Saturday and scored 26 points in a road win at Long Beach State last month. However, the Warriors have been inconsistent on their current road trip, suffering double-digit losses at Cal State Northridge and Cal Poly before the narrow OT victory over UCSB. UC Davis counters with high-scoring guard Connor Sevilla, who has averaged 16.1 points over the same seven-game stretch. Sevilla poured in 22 points in a road win at UC Riverside last time out and had a 27-point outing at Cal State Bakersfield in late January. The Aggies have won four of their last six, with their only losses in that span coming by a single point at Cal State Fullerton and on the road at UC San Diego. The game will be a test of Hawaii’s road resilience against a UC Davis team that has defended its home court well this season. The Aggies’ recent home wins include decisive victories over Long Beach State and UC Santa Barbara. Tipoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. PST. Hawaii travels to face Cal State Fullerton on Saturday, while UC Davis prepares for a road swing next week at Long Beach State and UC Irvine.
