Preview: Denver at Oral Roberts in Summit League Men’s Basketball TULSA, Okla. (Interstat) — A pair of Summit League teams heading in opposite directions meet Thursday when the Denver Pioneers visit the Oral Roberts Golden Eagles at Mabee Center. Denver (15-15) enters the matchup at .500 overall, having won five of its last seven games. The Pioneers are coming off an 82-80 home victory over Saint Thomas (Minn.) on Saturday, powered by a career-high 26 points from guard Julius Rollins in just 22 minutes. Rollins, a key player to watch, has provided explosive scoring off the bench. Oral Roberts (7-22) has struggled through the season but snapped a five-game losing streak with a 67-62 home win over South Dakota on Saturday. The Golden Eagles are led by guard Ty Harper, who scored 29 points in that victory and has averaged 24.4 points over his last five games, providing nearly all of his team’s offensive firepower. The Pioneers won the first meeting this season, 98-87 at home on Jan. 14. Denver has shown a balanced attack recently, with Carson Johnson adding 25 points in the win over Saint Thomas. For Oral Roberts, consistency beyond Harper remains a challenge. Ofri Naveh (13 points) was the only other Golden Eagle in double figures against South Dakota. The game will be a test of Denver’s momentum against an Oral Roberts team seeking to build on a rare win at home. Tipoff is scheduled for Thursday afternoon in Tulsa. Oral Roberts travels to face Missouri-Kansas City on Saturday, while Denver continues its conference schedule.
