FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (Interstat) ā A pivotal Southeastern Conference menās basketball clash is set for Wednesday night as the Arkansas Razorbacks host the Texas A&M Aggies at Bud Walton Arena. Both teams enter with momentum, coming off weekend victories. Arkansas (20-7) defeated Missouri 94-86 on Saturday behind a 21-point performance from guard Billy Richmond. Texas A&M (19-8) earned a 75-71 road win at Oklahoma, powered by 18 points from Rashaun Agee and 14 from Rylan Griffen. The matchup features two of the SECās top guards. Richmond has been on a scoring tear for the Razorbacks, averaging over 20 points in his last three games, including a 25-point outing in a win over Auburn on Feb. 14. For the Aggies, Griffen has been a key contributor, scoring 17 points in two of his last five contests. Arkansas holds a narrow edge in the conference standings with its 20-7 overall record. The Razorbacksā offense has been potent, scoring 88 or more points in four of their last five wins. Their only recent blemish was a double-overtime road loss at Alabama on Feb. 18. Texas A&M seeks a resume-building road win after a stretch of inconsistent results. Prior to the Oklahoma victory, the Aggies dropped four of five games, including narrow losses to Missouri and Alabama. Their defense, which allowed 86 points to Florida and 82 to Vanderbilt this month, will be tested by Arkansasās high-powered attack. The game is a critical part of the final stretch of the regular season for both teams. Following this contest, Arkansas travels to Florida on Saturday, while Texas A&M hosts Texas. Tip-off is scheduled for 8 p.m. EST Wednesday at Bud Walton Arena. The game will be televised on the SEC Network.
