OAKLAND, IU INDY MEET IN HORIZON LEAGUE REMATCH INDIANAPOLIS (Interstat) ā The Oakland Golden Grizzlies seek to avenge a lopsided loss and solidify their position in the Horizon League standings when they visit the IU Indy Jaguars on Wednesday night at Fairgrounds Coliseum. Oakland (15-14 overall) enters the rematch with momentum, coming off an 81-70 home victory over Milwaukee on Sunday. The Jaguars (7-22) look to snap a four-game skid, most recently an 85-73 loss at Wright State on Feb. 19. The Golden Grizzlies will be fueled by the memory of a 103-85 home defeat to IU Indy just over a month ago, on Jan. 21. In that game, the Jaguars shot 54% from the field and connected on 13 3-pointers. Oaklandās hopes will rest heavily on forward Tuburu Naivalurua, who is coming off a dominant performance. He scored 23 points, grabbed nine rebounds and dished four assists in the win over Milwaukee. Over his last eight games, Naivalurua is averaging 14.9 points and 4.9 rebounds. Guard Brody Robinson, who had 20 points and nine assists against Milwaukee, provides a key backcourt complement. IU Indy counters with guard Kyler DāAugustino, who has been a consistent scorer during the teamās difficult season. He has topped 20 points in three of his last five outings, including a 22-point effort in the close loss to Northern Kentucky on Feb. 12. In the first meeting with Oakland, DāAugustino tallied 17 points and five assists. The Jaguars have shown offensive capability, averaging 78.2 points per game in conference play, but rank last in the Horizon in scoring defense, allowing 84.6 points per contest. Oakland averages 77.1 points per game. A win would move the Golden Grizzlies above .500 overall and improve their conference tournament seeding prospects. For IU Indy, it represents a chance to sweep the season series and find a positive note in a challenging year. Tipoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. EST. Oakland hosts Detroit on Saturday, while IU Indy welcomes Purdue Fort Wayne.
