(Interstat) — A pivotal Summit League men’s basketball matchup with postseason implications is set for Wednesday when the Omaha Mavericks visit the South Dakota Coyotes at the DakotaDome in Vermillion. Both teams enter the regular-season finale with nearly identical records, fighting to finish above .500. Omaha sits at 15-14 overall, while South Dakota is 14-15. The game could prove critical for seeding in the upcoming conference tournament. The matchup features two of the league’s premier scorers. Omaha’s Ja’Sean Glover enters on a hot streak, averaging 18.4 points over his last seven games. He dropped a team-high 26 points in the Mavericks’ last outing, an 80-71 home win over Oral Roberts on Feb. 18. South Dakota will counter with Cameron Fens, who has been a consistent force. He is averaging 21.1 points over his last seven contests, including a 25-point performance in a narrow 67-62 road loss to Oral Roberts on Feb. 21. The Coyotes won the first meeting this season, 68-64, in Omaha on Jan. 21. South Dakota has relied on a strong home-court advantage at the DakotaDome this season. Omaha brings momentum into the contest, having won three straight games and four of its last five. South Dakota looks to snap a three-game skid, with its last victory a 68-67 road upset of South Dakota State on Feb. 7.
